Encouraging the love of reading, writing, and drawing through visual art.

Many times, in conjunction with visits to schools located around the country, Richards has had the opportunity to speak at Public Libraries, or Community Groups. He has been welcomed to speak by the Friends of the Library, Rotary Clubs, 4H Groups, Church Organizations, and Home Schools Groups. Richard's preserntation format normally consists of PowerPoint Presentation, Q & A, Draw-Along, and book signing time. These have been wonderful events!
With the release of each new book, Richard makes promotional appearances at book stores and book fairs across the country. It is a great opportunity for him to meet people who are either connected to school or public libraries, or are lovers and collectors of Children's books.

Richard has also had the blessing of speaking to, and drawing with children at a few of the country's Children's hospitals. He has found that the children often relate to Fiona’s story of overcoming premature birth.

Events

Here I am at Barnes & Noble in Cleveland, Ohio promoting the release of “A Very Fiona Christmas”. This event included an Artist Talk, drawing presentation, Q&A and book signing. I really enjoy these events because they allow me to talk directly to fans old and new and to hear feedback first-hand. If there’s something I’ve learned, from toddlers to 90-somethings, Fiona’s story resonates with everyone!

Presentations

Sometimes my audience for presentations will be mostly adults. From budding illustrators to enthusiastic parents and doting grandparents, or simply fans of the subject, I’m able to tailor my presentation to audiences young and old, be they young readers, artists or just fans of children’s fiction, my presentation has something for everyone.

Media & Press

Fiona has created quite the buzz and I often will visit a news station or two for a sit down to gab about Fiona’s latest antics. I enjoy bringing stories of hope and joy to people, especially when that joy is so sorely needed.
